How to Install Heat Shrink Tubing Products?

Using Heat Shrink Tubing in Home DIYs

Step 1

Prepare right installation tool. The most commonly used one is Hot Air Gun, which usually has an LCD board to display the temperature. Or if we need to heat thicker wall heat shrink tubing, Butylene spray gun is recommended.

Step 2

Scissoring the heat shrink tubing at an appropriate length according to connector or wire covering area ( Please take the longitudinal shrinkage into consideration, so the tube length better has +10% tolerance) Please also ensure the tubing end does not has any burrs or sharp angles.

Step 3

Clean the connector or wire outer surface. If the conductor it is cold metal, please heat it evenly before applying the tubing

Step 4

Locate the tubing across the place which needs to be project or insulate.

Step 5

Then use the hot air gun to shrink the tubing from one end, evenly direct to the other end. Or you can also shrink the tubing from the middle to the other two ends. No air is allowed to stay inside the tubing.

Step 6

After the tubing tightly cover the conductor or wires, all job perfect done!

Using Heat Shrink Tubing in Large Scale Manufacturing

If using heat shrink tubing at manufacturing industry, hot air gun is not efficient. Under this circumstance, we suggest you to use Electric Oven, which can do the job quite fast than worker labor.
